Boardroom Apprentice

Politics Plus are pleased to host one of the newly selected Boardroom Apprentices. The programme was developed in collaboration with Strictly Boardroom to give people the opportunity to work on a Board for 12 months. The purpose of which is to motivate more people to put themselves forward for Board and Committee positions, with the ultimate aim of ensuring more diversity in the decision-making of the public and private sector.

Strictly Boardroom reported an impressive level of interest in programme, with over 207 applicants to this pilot programme. The selection panel selected 29 Boardroom Apprentices and matched them across the 24 host boards, as listed below.

Politics Plus are thrilled to welcome Ms Claire Cromie as our very own Board Apprentice.

Politics Plus will provide a valuable and wide-ranging experience for our Boardroom Apprentice who will be immersed in the decision-making and governance of Politics Plus. They can expect to engage in ground breaking programmes, international best practice and support innovative plans to include working with the Northern Ireland Assembly Women’s Parliamentary Caucus on their Engagement Plan.

The training and 12-month placement begins 1st September 2017. During the year, the programme will provide Boardroom Apprentices with skill development opportunities in areas such as: governance of a board, managing conflict, developing valuable professional relationships, effective communication and understanding complex information.
