This is a dedicated programme for female MLAs and elected officials, exploring strategies for enhancing the influence and authority of women within politics and public life.
This Programme has been specifically designed to address the under-representation of women within these spheres, as highlighted in the recent Assembly and Executive Review Committee Report on Women in Politics and the Northern Ireland Assembly.
The Women in Politics Leadership Programme looks at themes such as: Creating Successful Alliances and Enduring Partnerships; Judgement and Decision-Making; Evidence-based Arguments; Courageous Choices; Empowerment, Confidence Building and Handling Doubt; and Interpersonal and Influencing Skills.
In addition, participants also have the opportunity to develop a bespoke Gender Action Plan, which can be implemented within their party.
The Politics Plus Women in Politics Leadership Programme launched on 16 April 2015.
