UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) reaffirms the human rights of people with disabilities and signals a further significant step in ensuring their full and equal citizenship.

In light of the importance of the UNCRPD, Politics Plus is proud to facilitate training on this subject to MLAs by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, in conjunction with the Independent Mechanism for Northern Ireland (IMNI).

During the event held on 6 June 2015, MLAs learned how to ensure that rights on paper translate into rights in reality for people with disabilities.
